Bonsai Kittens AKA What The F*ck Is Wrong With You???

People are just sick to have even thought of this. This was e-mail I recieved I just edited it a bit to make some sense...

"A Japanese man in New York breeds and sells kittens that are called Bonsai Kittens. That would sound cute, if it weren't kittens that were put in to little bottles after being given a muscle relaxant and then locked up for the rest of their lives! The cats are fed through a straw and have a small tube for by their faces for air. The skeleton of the cat will take on the form of the bottle as the kitten grows and never get the opportunity to move. Bonsai Kittens are used as original and exclusive souvenirs. These are the latest trends in New York, China, Indonesia and New Zealand. If you think you can handle it, view the methods being used to put these little kittens into bottles."

This is sick. Not that I really believe it, but sick in the sense that someone would even make the website period. What the fuck is wrong with people?

"Giving Up" In Review

This is a cover of Donny Hathaway's "Giving Up" that Aaliyah recorded for her 2001 self-titled album that didn't make the final cut. The track is quite special in that 1) it is exclusive and 2) that it really shows off her vocal ability. She does great jutsice to the original, which is one of my favorites, and makes it her own. That is the most important part of covering a song. If you aren't going to do it and make it your own then don't bother. An interesting tidbit about the song. The song is featured in Sparkle. Aaliyah was set to star in the picture. This might be another reason she recorded it. Hopefully this is one of the tracks that will show up on the Aaliyah album that they have been been working on for quite some time. I hear that it will see the light in Fall 2005. It's one of those 'instant classic' songs that you hear that gives you chills whenever you hear it. Just shows you all that she was capable of doing and what she was interested in doing. We'll never get another one like her again. R.I.P. Aaliyah. Hopefully you enjoy the track.

Stuff like this makes me glad that I don't listen to the radio. I haven't even listen to the clip because it will just upset me more. Let's see if they play it Monday morning. Are they trying to be extra with it becaust Star & Bucwild are back in NYC? I'm just really disappointed in New York for just listening to it and not doing anything about it. Probably got so many laughs from people, that is the sad part.

"U Already Know" In Review

112 is finally back. It feels good to say that since I used to really enjoy their music., but Hot & Wet was an abismal let down. There were only a hand ful of tracks on that album that I even remember and one was because T.I. blessed it. I'm hoping that we get the old 112 from 112, Room 112, and Part III. After testing "If I Hit" featuring T.I. they settled on releasing "U Already Know" as the first single from the album of the same name. I liked "If I Hit," but this is a much better single for the R&B quartet. It's a slow mid-tempo diddy about sex. Which is understandable because they are grown men. The lyrics get a little raunchy. Ranging from raw sex to threesomes and oral sex, yet it is all down very tastefully. ::cough:: Seriously though it really works because of how the track is laid out. The vocals are on point. That is one thing I can always count on 112 for, great vocals. The beat is very simple and sounds very updated 1990's beat. Hopefully you get what I mean when you hear it. This track is get to be a sure fire hit for them and they deserve it. Look for their album U Already Know due out this spring. Listen to the track here. 4.5/5

-Those silly people at the Recording Academy anounced the first string of performers and presenters for the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards. With this first batch I can tell it's going to be a pretty good show. The performers includ drunken Irishmen U2, the non-idiot type of Americans called Green Day, a guitar playing hay packer named Tim McGraw, and the oh so soulful and talented Hell's Kitchen native Alicia Keys. The first three presenters announced were Ellen DeGeneres, John Travolta, and double nominee Christina Milian. The latter two will probably be promoting their new movie Be Cool and Ellen is sure to make us laugh being the smart and funny woman that she is. The show will be boradcast live on February 13th, at 8:00PM on CBS. Hosted by Queen Latifah.

-Fat Joe pushes his album back to April 26, 2005 and he also changes his title from the quite original and sort of "thought provoking" Things Of That Nature to straight up wack All Or Nothing. Yes, let's just backslide. The first single is "So Much More" and the follow up track will be "Get It Poppin" featuring Nelly. Also be on the look out for a single he did with Jennifer Lopez called "Hold You Down" which she did for her Rebirth album due on March 1st. The cut will now, of course, appear on his new solo effort also. Read more here.

-Usher, Kanye West, and Alicia Keys all pick up nominations for the 36th NAACP Image Awards. What I am happy about is that they finally have some good movies to pick from for Outstanding Motion Picture. Collateral, Ray, Hotel Rowanda, Man On Fire, and Fahrenheit 9/11. Only at the NAACP Image Awards could movies like Deliver Us From Eva, The Brother, The Wood, and other shameless and pointless backsliding junk recieve praise. Read more here.

-In other Usher news he is reportedly mad at Jennifer Lopez for the "Get Right" track and he is saying that he better get a portion of the publishing rights. Ha! She is too smart for that one. She's been doing this since as far back as I can remember. First off, it all depends on the deal he had with Rich Harrison. Some producers can take a song away if the artist doesn't use it depending on the deal they settled on. He probably leased it to him. It's not her fault. Secondly he didn't write anything on either song so what exactly is he looking for. Usher isn't creative he just singing and dances and pretends to write songs. Let me tell you something about singer songwriters if they haven't wrote something for other people a la Alicia Keys, Christina Milian, and Ashanti, then they probably just take credit for other people's songs. Usher? Songwriter? Laughable. Thief has a better ring to it. There are some exceptions to this rule though.

-Andre 3000 will be voicing the charcter of a crow in the live-action version of Charlotte's Web. You can catch 3000 next in Be Cool.

I know this is old news, but I felt like sharing it anyway since I'm anticipating the two songs that she contributes to the soundtrack. The movie also seems like it will be good comedy. Get Shorty was good so I have some faith this flick. I haven't watching a good movie in so long. Elektra sucked. Then the Fantastic Four trailer before it sucked. It didn't suck ass bad, but that shit was still wack. Oh, and how could I forget White Noise. That was a direct-to-video movie if I ever saw one. Damn! That shit was really bad! I need something worth my New York City movie ticket price of $10.50. I still know of some parts that pay $6.50 and that's not matinee. So everyone should watch out for Be Cool it comes out on March 4th. Soundtrack is out March 1st.

Note: The Christina Milian track that appears on the soundtrack is actually the same song Alicia Keys was going to use on her album. It's produced by Rich Harrison and written by the Diary singer. If you look in your liner notes it has a track called "Ain't No Reason" that wasn't on the final tracklisting. That track is now this track being sung by Milian for the soundtrack. Should be good, but I wonder what happened. This was brought actually brought to my attention at her message board, which she actually visits from time to time.

I can't enough of this track. Trying to make this my ringer.

Also known as "Magic Stick Part II." Why isn't Olivia singing though? People are going to think she is a rapper.

Kinda wack, but somebody had to like it. I guess it's just me.

Both of these songs have wack ass lyrics and even the vocals on Usher's track seem a bit off with the beat. That na-na-na-na bullshit isn't necessary. He over does it. Sad to say but her version is just a bit catchier. Hahaha@them both having the same bridge. This beat is the Close Call.

Guilty Pleasure

The beat is so sick and she looks so good. I can't help it I'm a sucker for a girl who shouts out that she is feeling 'sexy.' Past guilty pleasures include Beyoncé's "Naughty Girl." Just take a listen.

"1 Thing" In Review

Every other place has been talking about it so why can't I?

That is the correct title up there. "1 Thing." Not "One Thing." Regardless of how the title is put this track is so sick. If ye do not thinketh the same, I knight ye stupid. Everyone agrees this is the hottest track around and all you stupid peopel I just knighted will join the bandwagon saying "It just needed to grow one me." Everyone also seems to agree that it is a rehash of Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love." Wrong. No rehashing. And had this song come first, "Crazy In Love" wouldn't be a rehashing of this. These are two very different tracks. Both good. Both different. You people need to stop being so ridiculous and tune your ears. Give the girl her credit damn it. Although, most of the credit has to be given to Rich Harrison for this. Don't know why he didn't get all the credit for "Crazy In Love" when he basically wrote the whole thing on top of producing it. All Beyoncé wrote was the bridge if I remember correctly. You can even tell the difference by comparing the lyrics to anything she has written.

Back to the track. This is a stright Go-Go track, so I know DC is loving it. This beats just gets you every time. (It's on repeat as I am writing this.) Rich Harrison is amazing, both in writing and producing, and I was one of those people saying this before "Crazy In Love." The man produced Amerie's whole debut album All I Have and that album was straight classic. Slept on, but classic.

This track actually appears on the soundtrack for Hitch starring Will Smith and Eva Mendes. I don't know about the movie, but the song is smartly produced and the vocals are great. Amerie can sing. I don't see where the Mary J. Blige comparison's came in, but the girl can blow. This is one of those track that has "hit" written all over it that should've been a single for her album and not the soundtrack. Another example would be Aaliyah's "Try Again." (::sigh:: R.I.P.)

Urban radio is eating the track up quickly and Rhythm is catching on it too. It's just the beginning of 2005 and it looks to be a good year in music. Listen to the track here. It's the version on the radio with extra ad-libs on the bridge. 5/5

First Of Some.

Welcome all to my log. I set this whole thing up back in October because a friend forced me to, but I never wrote anything. This is where boredom and insomnia come in. I'm only doing now because I was looking through some of the other blogs and found them interesting. I wanted to be sort of interesting too. Someone will eventually come back.

I don't exactly know what I plan to using this for, but everything finds it's purpose sooner or later. I'll be sharing randomness. My thoughts, ideas, or anything I find interesting at all. Maybe those interesting finds would be your thoughts and ideas. Who knows? Not me. If you do feel like sharing some blog knowledge with the new kid on the block you are more than welcome to.

Since this is for things I like, want, and need I'll probably be posting most about music because it's all I seem to care about these days. Keeps me busy. Also, movies. Movies are always a good topic. Music and movies, good balance when you add on the other junk I'll speak about.
